We have been involved in the Paza Sauti intervention, to sensitize communities and improve the uptake of gender based violence (GBV) services in Pwani region. As a result of our efforts, there was a 715% increase in reported GBV cases, rising from 153 in March 2020 to 1,094 in September 2021. Additionally, we have been conducting capacity strengthening exercises at various sites to ensure proper screening and care for GBV among recipients of all supported HIV services. Moreover, in collaboration with the government and other stakeholders we have conducted the Violence Against Children Survey (VAC) in Tanzania, with the goal of appropriately disseminating the findings to inform national responses. We have also identified and provided health and social welfare services to survivors of GBV and VAC within the HIV programming framework.
